Background

The Municipality of Valongo aims to integrate nature-based solutions (NBS) in urban and peri-urban areas with the goal of improving environmental quality, urban resilience, and community well-being.

ANCV’s Role

The Portuguese National Association of Green Roofs (ANCV) contributed by:

_Providing technical consulting for the green roofs project in the Municipality of Valongo;
_Organizing a workshop for municipal technicians to build capacity and raise awareness of nature-based solutions;
_Disseminating the project nationally and internationally, encouraging other municipalities—especially Portuguese ones—to adopt similar green infrastructure solutions.
