Background

The Green Roofs Training Project aims to design an innovative training course, methodology, and a new multidisciplinary occupational profile specializing in green roofs.

The initiative supports employability and the socio-educational and professional development of young graduates in civil engineering, landscape architecture, urban planning, and related fields by equipping them with the skills needed for urban regeneration.

The program also helps graduates at the start of their careers by providing international experiences and fostering the creation of a new multidisciplinary professional profile: specialists in green roof agriculture and gardening, also known as Green Roof Technicians.

Target Groups

Young graduates in civil engineering, landscape architecture, urban planning, and related areas.
Higher Education institutions interested in adopting new training methodologies.
Companies and organizations working in sustainability, urban regeneration, and green construction.

R1. Development of the Green Roof Training Course and Platform

ANCV’s Role in Erasmus+ Project "Green Roofs Technician Training Program"

The Portuguese National Association of Green Roofs (ANCV) has played an active role in the project through:

_Translating the ANCV Technical Guide on Green Roofs, which served as the foundation for course development.
_Organizing training and internships for 30 students from Lithuania (Klaipeda State University of Applied Sciences), Romania (Dunarea de Jos University of Galati), and Poland (Silesian University of Technology), held in Portugal and hosted by ANCV’s associated institutions for a period of two months.
_Producing the Green Roof Trainers’ Guide, providing learning resources to strengthen the skills of both trainers and technicians.
