World Green Infrastructure Congress - Barcelona and Lleida (27 to 30 October 2026)

The World Green Infrastructure Congress 2026, in its 12th edition, will take place in Barcelona and Lleida (Catalonia, Spain) from 27 to 30 October 2026.

The event is promoted by the World Green Infrastructure Network (WGIN) and organised by the University of Lleida. It is set within a particularly symbolic year for Barcelona, designated as World Capital of Architecture 2026 and as part of the celebrations of the Year of Antoni Gaudí.

The congress programme will be structured over several days, starting with parallel sessions and poster presentations in Barcelona. It will cover traditional themes such as policies, technologies, impacts and education, as well as featured topics focused on innovation and sector development in green infrastructure.

The World Green Infrastructure Congress 2026 will also include an exhibition area where leading companies in the sector will showcase products, solutions and the latest innovations in green infrastructure.

The third day will be dedicated to technical visits to projects across Barcelona, in an innovative “open doors” format, allowing participants to experience implemented solutions on site.

An optional fourth day will feature workshops on research and innovation in Lleida, organised by the University of Lleida.

The congress is a leading international forum bringing together researchers, professionals and industry stakeholders, promoting knowledge exchange and the presentation of research, case studies and applied projects.
