MOVES-IT Project: Partners visit environmental sensor installation sites in Matosinhos

Within the framework of the European project MOVES-IT, coordinated by the Câmara Municipal de Matosinhos, project partners carried out a technical visit on 25 March to the locations where environmental sensors will be installed.

The visit aimed to assess the sites where sensors will be deployed to monitor air quality, noise levels and temperature across the four selected neighbourhoods included in the project. These devices will support the collection of essential environmental data, contributing to evidence-based urban planning and the development of more sustainable solutions.

The partners also visited the site where the future Urban Intelligence Centre is under construction, a core infrastructure of the project that will support the integration and real-time analysis of urban data.

The project consortium includes IrRADIARE, the University of Aveiro, the Polytechnic of Porto – School of Engineering, and GREENROOFS®, an innovative initiative developed by the Associação Nacional de Coberturas Verdes (ANCV).

During the visit, all partners presented the current status and timeline of their respective activities within the project, in a technical follow-up session with an expert from the European Urban Initiative.

The MOVES-IT project aims to strengthen Matosinhos’ digital and climate transition, promoting a more sustainable, inclusive and participatory city through the integration of technological solutions, citizen engagement and urban innovation.
