The AQUA+ framework (www.aquamais.pt) is based on a unique, national methodology that enables the assessment, classification, and improvement of buildings’ performance in water use (and associated energy use). It was developed by ADENE with the involvement of key industry sectors and validated by the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA), the Water and Waste Services Regulatory Authority (ERSAR), Turismo de Portugal, and several entities from the National Scientific and Technological System.

The next edition of the AQUA+ Training Course will take place in September/October 2025, in an online format, delivered by the ADENE Academy. The course aims to train participants in applying the AQUA+ methodology, covering both Residential Buildings and Commercial & Service Buildings (including the AQUA+ Hotels and AQUA+ Offices modules).

AQUA+ Commercial & Services Course: Training for Managers and Auditors of Water Efficiency in Hotels and Office Buildings

Recognition & Qualification:

Upon successful completion of the course, participants may apply to ADENE for recognition as AQUA+ Managers (Residential and/or Commercial & Services), provided they meet the minimum requirements listed on the course page.

To qualify as an AQUA+ Auditor, participants must conduct an audit of a residential property or a hotel/office building and issue the corresponding AQUA+ classification. This audit will be supervised by ADENE, ensuring auditor qualification and resulting in a classification that is valid in the market.
