The Portuguese National Association for Green Roofs (ANCV) participated in the Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS) Seminar, organized by the municipal company Águas de Santarém on May 28, at ISLA Santarém.

ANCV was represented by Eng. José Ávila e Sousa, Treasurer and Board Member of the Association, who delivered a presentation on the importance of green roofs as an integrated solution for sustainable water management in urban environments.

During his speech, Eng. Ávila e Sousa highlighted the role of green roofs in stormwater retention, mitigating the effects of urban soil impermeabilization, thermal regulation, and air quality improvement. He also emphasized their growing relevance in addressing the challenges of rapid urbanization and climate change.
