Higher Institute of Accounting and Administration of Porto (ISCAP)
Since 1886, the Higher Institute of Accounting and Administration of Porto (ISCAP), as an educational institution primarily focused on business sciences, has been committed to building strong relationships with its academic community and the surrounding environment. ISCAP believes that its growth can only be achieved through the creation of synergies with companies, municipalities, and other national and international educational institutions.
Since 1995, ISCAP has been located near the Asprela University Campus, close to the S. João Hospital. Its facilities include a large library, 2 auditoriums, 3 lecture halls, 1 assembly hall, computer centers, language and multimedia laboratories, a marketing and digital communication laboratory, 1 cafeteria, 3 bars, 1 restaurant, and administrative offices.
ISCAP offers a diverse range of programs at the undergraduate, master's, postgraduate, and professional higher education levels in the field of business sciences. In addition to in-person education, the institution also focuses on distance learning—through e-learning and blended learning. The distance education system combines face-to-face classes with synchronous online classes.
ISCAP aims to establish a strong connection with its environment, adapting to an ever-changing reality by using new methodologies and, most importantly, adopting a new approach to teaching. In this regard, it is developing partnerships with public and private institutions both nationally and internationally. The internationalization strategy focuses on continuously increasing cooperation agreements with various higher education institutions, particularly in Europe, as well as with countries from the CPLP (Community of Portuguese Language Countries). Internationalization is seen as not only inevitable but also essential. Looking towards the future, ISCAP's policy is based on four key pillars: teaching/training, research, internationalization, and services to the community. Activities are developed for each of these pillars to ensure the school’s growth, always attentive to the needs of all and contributing to the country's development.
ISCAP's vision includes the following elements: innovation, experience, and social responsibility, continuing to position itself as a reference institution in higher education.
